Some times I think things, but never write them down. <-This is one of those things I never wrote down.
Fight by flight. (Thought on fighting temptation by fleeing.) co-thinker-Christen Andrews
Nobody is suppose to be an island stuck out in the middle of the ocean.
Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite Joy is offered to us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased. – C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory
The more we feast on lesser pleasures, the less of an appetite we have for the Lord. We have traded open visions for television, fire for flirting, and praying for playing. We won’t encounter God like the saints in the Bible, if we don’t take the time to actually seek His face! We are so stuffed with boring distractions that we have no hunger for God! You want to change the world? Get rid of whatever is distracting you and get on your face. – My Brother Tony Seigh
If God is an ocean, I haven’t even made it to the shore yet!
