THE MEDITATION OF MY HEART

LOVE; TURNABOUT IS FAIR PLAY

Her sins, which are many have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little. -Luke 7:47

Jesus offered a lot of extreme comparisons. Stuff like “The First will be last.” Or “He who loses his life will find it.” Here, Jesus works another paradox: The more you’ve been forgiven, the more you are able to love.

Forgiveness is a powerful thing-a dynamic people intuitively know is not of this world. You may have heard the quote “To err is human, to forgive is divine,” and that’s so true.

Forgiveness does not spring from the human condition; rather, it flows out of the divine image.

In short, forgiveness flows out of love and elicits love in return.
