TC; GOD FEELS! Gen. 6:6
The appropriateness of emotions is forever settled by realizing that God himself has emotions. Human emotionality is further confirmed in the fact that Jesus and the Holy Spirit feel and exspress emotions. In Mark 3:5, the Pharisees were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if He would heal on the sabath. When Jesus saw them, two different emotions surged through his heart: “Jesus looked around at them in anger, deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts.” In Luke 10:21, the Scriptures record that”Jesus Rejoiced in the Spirit.” Paul taught that the Holy Spirit can feel grieved (Eph. 4:30).
If God expresses emotions, it must be okay for us to have emotions and to do likewise. The key to a healthy relationships will be how we deal with our emotions. For that, scripture must be our guide. We are created In God’s image (Gen. 1:26), and we are to emulate Him.
