THE MEDITATION OF MY HEART

“SPIRIT OF INDEPENDENCE AND TRUE CHRISTIANITY”

Awhile back I had a room mate who was a former gang member. He was heavily built and rough on the skin. He had a great relationship with the Lord and seemed faithful in prayer. He told me that one day he told our room, “If we’re going to live together then we need to stick together, like a family. The gang i was in was more of a family then, then the church today.” I have to agree with him, even though it breaks my heart. It saddens me to think a gang could paint a better picture of commitment, loyalty, and family then my local church body.

I’ve been recently been asked to do a video for a concert we had a while back, knowing my gift in film, people often ask me to do such things. I said ‘yes’ to it, and saying yes means i committed to it, and is therefore the will of God for my life. Often when God is using me, knowing I am a the top of the devils most wanted list. I often get bombarded by distractions of life. (I should know, My talent effects the Kingdom so much, my computer dvd drive doesn’t work anymore. hindering me from my call to knock out films for the Kingdom.) When Distractions hit me, hindering me from what i am suppose to do, and takes me a week past when it was to be “finished”. It makes me think that, “what if we were family”, would i make a call to see what was going on, you said you were going to do something, whats going on. We end up ignoring each other while I myself feel like failed them. But this is the Spirit of Independence in the church. It hinders a close relation church family body. As I have written in the post, “the Download” that the “spirit of independence hinders revival and outpouring of the Lord. The independence between the Older, and Younger generations is so deadly, that I can’t but cry at the encounter of it daily. My hope in writing this is to settle the independence, and unite the church as a family.

Independence is dangerous because it is grounded in pride.

The Spirit of Independence in the younger generation says, “we don’t need you,  we think we can do better” THAT’S PRIDE!!

The Spirit of Independence in the younger generation says, “We don’t need you, come back when your older, we can’t trust you.” THAT’S PRIDE AS WELL!!

As a nineteen year old, and follower of the way of Christ, that my unfaithfulness and excellence to the task I said yes to, was sin, regardless of the distractions, it is no excuse.James 4:17 says: “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” (NKJV)

I have stood before the council of the Lord and been convicted of what wrong I did. Regardless of living in a fast food society, where it is hard to find time to do anything, I learned that regardless I will always finish what I start, I will never be perfect, I will fail, but it wont hinder me from finishing what I have started.  I will spread my broken wings and try.

I understand what is inside the younger generation because it was in me, at least until a month ago when, the Lord gave me a 8 page wake up call revelation of conviction. Reveling the Junk that was going on in my heart.  hence  I wrote it down, and the article titled”the download” was written. But even understanding this it is vital for everyone to understand this and check themselves, including me. So that the unity of the Bride may be set free from the blinding stronghold the enemy, that has kept us from being united with “one accord” as the first church was seen in book of acts.  I challenge the church not just corporately but individually, to Imitate the movement of the first Church, by living the bible so that people can tell that your are a follower of the way of Jesus Christ.

The name Christian never came from us as believers, we were given it as seen in Acts 11, starting in verse, 19

Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.  But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord. Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch. When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. – Acts 11:19-26

Exegesis: an attempt to discover the meaning of the text objectively, starting with the text and moving out from there. (In other words, take the bible and live as instructed)

The Word Exegesis comes from a Greek word meaning “to lead out.”

James tells us in James chapter 1, verses 21 to 25 , “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”– James 1:21-25 (NKJV)

The Question I want to ask you is, what would it look like if we as Christians were to live exegetically? If we were to merge our theology with our reality. Starting with scriptures and allow it to dictate our words thoughts and actions, how would we live? This is How I intend to live, what about you?
